Hello all! Sign-ups are starting up soon for the 2012 round of [info]bigbangbigbang and we hope you're all as excited as we are! We know that there are always people who want to sign up, but you may be having trouble coming up with ideas. That's what we're here for! Feel free to use this post to brainstorm for ideas, ask for advice or get help turning a tiny plot bunny into a 15K sized plot bunny.

Of course, we do have a few rules to go over first.

Anonymous commenting is turned on and REQUIRED.

We are requiring you to post anonymously to keep from contaminating potential readership and potential artists who might be claiming your fics later. Since we try to do claims as unbiased as possible, we don't want author names attached to plots this early in the challenge. Any posts that are posted under your LJ username will be deleted, unless there is a very good reason for you not to be anon.

If you're not sure how to post anonymously, there are two ways to do it. The first, and probably easiest, is to simply log out of Livejournal and comment. The second is to click the link that says "switch" next to your username and select "Anonymously" from the drop down menu.

+ Anonymous commenting is not an excuse to treat others with disrespect. No abuse, insults or other rude behavior will be tolerated here. This is a place for help and support, so keep it classy.

+ Since [info]bigbangbigbang is open to all pairings, ratings, genres, etc. we ask you to be open-minded. If someone is discussing a fic idea that isn't your cup of tea, then feel free to move on. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything.

+ This community is not yet open for membership, so do not try to join. You can comment on this post without being a member. Once the challenge starts, we will invite participants here after they sign-up.

If you have any comments or questions for the mods, feel free to post them as we'll be watching this post closely.

As a reminder, [info]bbbbsupport membership is currently closed. Once signups end we'll send invitations to all participants to join us here for activities during the Big Bang.

Questions? Feel free to ask here. Anonymous commenting is on.

(Still brainstorming ideas for [info]bigbangbigbang? The all-anonymous post is still open. Make sure you read the rules before diving in :)

Hello all! We've had a few members say that while they're excited to sign-up for the challenge, they're not sure if they have a plot idea to write. So in order to help everyone out, we've decided to create a post where you can brainstorm about potential plot ideas. If you have an idea and need help fleshing it out to see if it can be a 15K+ idea, then ask here for help. If you're bereft of ideas entirely, then post here. If you just want opinions from others about your potential plot ideas, go for it.

Of course, we do have a few rules to go over first.

(Let's just pretend it's almost spring, shall we?)

Since we're getting ready for [info]bigbangbigbang 2011, we've removed everyone from this support comm for the time being. Once signups close at the end of March, we'll send out new invites to everyone who will be participating in the new round.

In the meantime, don't forget to keep an eye on [info]bigbangbigbang, @bbbbupdates, and #bbbb2011 for the latest news!

Thanks once again to all of you for making the first Big Bang Big Bang so much fun ♥

Big Bang Big Bang has allowed us to open our horizons and work with characters not commonly used in fic. One of these characters is Barry Kripke. I know a few of us are utilizing Barry in our stories (some as more a main character than others), and we're having difficulties managing his speech patterns.

What makes Barry an interesting character is that he's incredibly difficult to write with his speech impediment. He speaks like Elmer Fudd - changing his R/L to W. Leg is Weg; Read is Weed. But what happens on the second syllable? Are there any set rules in getting his voice patterns correct?

I've been watching episodes of Barry for research and I've noticed it's "Coopah" and not "Coopew" - it's not merely changing every R/L to W, but managing to actually write his dialogue as though he were speaking this way. To get that crazy speech impediment translated from verbal to the written word is hard.

So, my dear Big Bangers, I am looking for you guys to assist with this quandary. Are there any specific rules/suggestions to which we can follow? Let's discuss any links or suggestions in the comments section. I'm sure we could all benefit from each other and maybe give Barry a little bit more time in the spotlight.

Hi everyone! Welcome to [info]bbbbsupport! First off, take a look at our rules. There aren't that many, so look and then come back here.

Okay. Hiiiii. Welcome! So glad to have you all on board and I think I speak for my co-mods when I say we are THRILLED with the enthusiasm and participation so far. It's exceeded any expectations we had when we started this little adventure.

So since this is the welcome post, I thought it would be a good way to introduce ourselves. I'm [info]weasleytook, but feel free to call me Lisa (though a few old-school friends of mine around here call me Hoppy). If you've seen me around fandom it's probably at [info]sheldon_penny, but I dabble in other areas as well and I'm really enjoying stuff at [info]bbt_eclectic right now too. (And have been in a huge Gen writing mood lately. And crack.) I live in Las Vegas and in 32 days I will be graduating college with my 2nd Bachelor's Degree. (Who's counting the days? NOT ME.)

So now that I've broken the seal... it's your turn to say hello. :)

1. At least until after all of the art/fanvid/mix claims have been made, we would like to keep the FULL details on what authors are writing as quiet as possible. However, if you have questions about BBT canon that you just can't find the answer to, or need help with your pop culture or science references, then this is definitely a great place to post.

2. We expect everyone here to treat all members with respect. This is not a place to fight, flame or insult other members (or anyone else). No drama!

3. This is not a general community for The Big Bang Theory, so keep general show posts to the appropriate communities. Unless it actually pertains to what you are planning or plotting for your big bang, it's probably considered off-topic for here.

4. Please tag posts appropriately, especially if you are posting links to resources.

5. Use your best judgment. As you can see, we have very few rules because we suspect that this isn't your first rodeo. Mostly, we want this to be a fun experience for everyone, so just use your head and we probably won't have to do very much moderating work at all. (And we like that idea.)

6. Have fun! Let off some steam. Do whatever it takes to get us all through the next few months, whether you're posting helpful resources, or you're just celebrating or commiserating, that's what this community is here for.

7. Have any questions, comments, concerns? As always, you can reply to this post, e-mail us at bbbbmods@gmail.com or contact us via Livejournal PM's. We are, as always, [info]bekkis, [info]ishie and [info]weasleytook. :)
